Allensworth : Via Huntington Beach California, Allensworth, dubbed "Cali-Coastal Soul Music" is headed by front man Jamie Allensworth and backed by long time friends and co-writers Anthony Gonzales on percussion & Jonnie Baldaray on bass. For the latest full length release "Against The Grain" Tom Plumb and Cole Dutcher join the lineup on drums and guitar. Over the last 10 years Allensworth and Gonzales have received recognition from Southern California's "Orange County Music Awards" for Best Live Band, Best Soul and R&B band, Best Acoustic Band, and Best Jam band. Sharing the stage with funk and soul pioneers such as James Brown, Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters, Maceo Parker and George Clinton to name a few, the Allensworth project is a mix of classic soul laced with blues, rock and a touch of reggae.
The Ultimate Bear Hug: The name simply being a reference to their hope that their music “will hug you.” Doll Knight and Barrett Johnson’s impromptu conversation evolved into a late night songwriting session with immediate musical chemistry. Their debut full length album, Just South of Los Angeles, brings together ten exquisite songs, including three arrangements for a string quartet. The album bridges the gap between timeless Folk and Indie/Pop, all anchored by Doll’s uniquely expressive and haunting vocals and Barrett’s intricate songwriting which have elicited equal praise and have drawn numerous comparisons to Billie Holiday and Madeleine Peyroux. As they’ve proven, sometimes a moment is all it takes to find a perfect symbiosis, and just a few minutes with the music of The Ultimate Bearhug has the power to cast a similar spell between artist and listener.
Mike Dena: Mike Dena is a singer-songwriter who was born and raised in Huntington Beach, California. He studied Jazz music at San Francisco state, and after graduating with a degree in music, moved home to become a full time musician along the west coast. Mike has had his songs featured in surf videos by the legendary Robert August of the Endless Summer and played charity events for his organizations in Costa Rica. He has recorded with Louis Richardson, producer of such greats as Rome with Sublime, Slightly Stooped, and the Dirty Heads. He has toured with his solo project overseas, with radio and tv appearances spreading his original sound throughout Europe. He has shared the stage with such acts as Donovan Freinkenreiter, the Dirty Heads, Common Sense and many others. Dena launches his new solo project with the pure intention of using the powerful medium of music and storytelling to connect and communicate a universal longing that expresses the journey of being a true artist.
