The Young Romans: The Young Romans are from Los Angeles and began in Spring 2010. The band, comprised of Brad Hooks (classically trained pianist and vocalist) and Sari Mellafe (accomplished guitarist and vocalist), has a sound of interweaving harmonies that is both organic and epic, delivering hits fit for Top 40 radio. Brad Hooks, born in Charlotte, NC, has won multiple awards for songwriting and performance. His song “The Ride” was a #1 radio hit in Northern California. Sari Mellafe, a seasoned performer and native of Santiago, Chile, began guitar as a teenager. Her father, a renowned classical guitarist, tried to steer her away from the woes of a musical career, but inadvertently inspired her to pursue just that. Sari and Brad toured as separate artists through high school and have since taken their music all over the world. The Young Romans are now signed with Red Parade Music Group and released their first EP “Yesterday Night” in October 2010.
Kim DiVine: About Me... I was born and raised in the lovely little town of Holden, Massachusetts and now reside in (almost always) sunny Los Angeles. I've been singing since I can remember but discovered my voice in high school (chorus, musicals, glee club) and when in college (Fairfield University) decided I was long overdue to play an instrument and that's when I fell in love with those six strings. Luckily I had my mom's 1963 Martin Classical guitar to learn on (I had no idea the relic I was strumming on) before I got my very own Takamine. I gravitate towards the color green, always, and I love lattes of any kind. I started writing songs on guitar before I really knew how to play (with influences by the Indigo Girls, Radiohead, Jeff Buckley at the time). I have a little dog named Ella and I adore her. I recorded a demo in college ("Bits and Pieces"), and a year later recorded my first professional CD ("Here and In Between") in Worcester, MA. In late 2004 I packed my bags and drove across the country to San Diego and dove right into the music scene where I met amazing musicians while doing many open mic nights (and released my EP "Hummingbird"). I traded up to my very first Martin guitar which I still play today. I love yoga, hiking, snowboarding and pretty much everything outdoors. In 2007 I made the move to LA and found myself cast in a musical webisode series sponsored by Ford Motors ("Kim & Seana"). Once I returned from my travels I hit the LA scene where I met many more amazing musicians and fell in love with the Hotel Cafe. I used a broken heart as fuel to write songs for my full length release ("Square One") and was a part-time waitress while playing around town and touring. And now in 2012, the new EP, "Five" (my favorite number, dating back to my middle school basketball jersey!) is released. Music Highlights..."Perfect Kind of Love" was featured on The CW's "One Tree Hill"; the voice of the latest JELL-O jingle; "Little Things," "Blue Skies," "Cheers" and "Letting Go" were featured on MTV's "The Real World"; "Easy On Me" was one of three finalists in the 2010 John Lennon Songwriting Contest (pop category) and semi-finalist in the 2010 International Songwriting Competition; "Trouble" placed in the Top 500 for Billboard's World Song Contest; Voted as Indie In-Tune's Singer/Songwriter of the Year 2007; Awarded Best Female Singer/Songwriter and Best Female Vocalist in the San Diego HAT (Honoring Acoustic Talent) Awards in 2006.
Mike Viola: Mike Viola is best known as singer, songwriter and musical architect of the Candy Butchers, a highly regarded pop-rock band from New York that recorded three critically-acclaimed albums for Sony, including 2003’s fan-favorite Hang On Mike. The success of the Candy Butchers led to multiple appearances on Late Night With Conan O’Brien and Last Call With Carson Daly. It also found the group touring alongside the likes of They Might Be Giants, Robyn Hitchcock, Semisonic, Sparklehorse, Barenaked Ladies, and Ivy. Viola simultaneously began a career in film-work a decade ago as the co-producer and lead singer of the Oscar-nominated title track from “That Thing You Do!”. Walk Hard, the recent Jake Kasdan/Judd Apatow film starring John C. Reilly, featured nearly a dozen songs written by Viola. A spoof on the Hollywood music biopic, Walk Hard proved to be the perfect playground for Viola’s subversive, witty lyrics and catchy-pop expertise. Viola joined the indie ranks in 2005 when he released an album of new songs on his own label, Good Morning Monkey Records. Recorded live at Largo in L.A., Just Before Dark showcases Mike's sharp abilities as a live performer. Once available on his website, mikeviola.com, the vinyl-only album sold out in three months. His latest album, Lurch, is alive with the classic-pop euphoria and vivid storybook imagery that Viola’s fans have come to treasure. Lurch has captured audiences internationally, thanks to tracks like album-opener “Maybe, Maybe Not” and first single “So Much Better”, which charted in Denmark. As signed worldwide to EMI Music Publishing, Viola remains a prolific songwriter and/or producer on a multitude of projects. His work can be heard on Amanda Leigh, the recent release by Mandy Moore -- for whom he is also Musical Director—in addition to collaborations with Inara George, Tim Christensen, Dan Bern, Steve McEwan, Kelly Jones, Ryan Adams, Drake Bell, Bleu, Adam Schlesinger, John C. Reilly, Mary Wood, Sam Bisbee, The Gentlemen, John Wesley Harding, and Ben Romans.
